THE partner of a 20-year-old worker who was severely burnt by LPG tanks after being turned on by co-workers in a plant in Lugait, Misamis Oriental is appealing for assistance from well-wishers to settle medical bills and acquire medication.
Rosalinda Ocampo, 20, said his partner, Wilfredo Gabe Mecarsos, 20, sustained serious burns in various parts of his body in the line of duty.
Ocampo, on Monday, told reporters that his partner (Mecarsos), badly needs “skin grafting” to be able to walk again on his own and probably return to work.
The said procedure of “skin grafting” it was learned consisted of transferring good skin to burnt skin by doctors trained specially for that kind of surgery.
He had been bedridden since she added.
Mecarsos is currently receiving treatment at the provincial hospital in Cagayan de Oro City.
It was then learned that the surgical process would entail around P300,000 in medical and related expenses, which will be performed by doctors in the said hospital there.
The AJM company in Lugait, her partner’s employer is helping, she said, to facilitate said procedure by paying him P1,800 per week in wages, even if he is unable to work.
They have a one-year-old kid, she said.
