Continuous heavy rains caused flash floods and landslides in the Municipality of Banaue specifically in the barangays of Uhaj, Gohang, Viewpoint, Amganad, and Tam-an then spreading to the barangays Poblacion, Bocos, and Poitan on July 7 this year.
Houses, vehicles, rice fields, livestock, commercial establishments, and roads were all affected.
A few days after the onslaught, three trucks loaded with relief goods from the Office of the OIC PNP, PLTGEN Vicente D. Danao Jr. were distributed to the residents affected by the flash floods and landslides.
A team from the National Capital Region was personally sent by the OIC PNP, PLTGEN Danao to personally distribute the relief packs. They were assisted by the personnel of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 and Ifugao PPO led by PCOL James Mangili.
In total, 1,080 relief packs containing assorted groceries including rice, can goods, and basic kitchen needs were distributed to the barangays of Amganad, Tam-an, Uhaj, Viewpoint, Bocos, Poitan, and Poblacion. # (PROCOR-PIO)(PHOTO COURTESY: PNP-IFUGAO)
