TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Department of Education (DepEd) in this province has announced that it is already prepared its teaching and non-teaching personnel for the incoming school year.
Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Chelo Tangan in an interview with the Northern Forum said that out of 11,761 employees of DepEd Cagayan, 11,477 have already been fully vaccinated or 97.58 percent.
As of July 27, data states that there are already 74,874 enrolled learners.
Expected enrollees are over 250,000 as last school year, exactly 252,648 learners were enrolled in the blended learning.
Meanwhile, Tangan urges parents to be their partners in the educational development of learners by vaccinating their children to protect them from the threat of COVID-19.
“I would like to urge the parents to trust us. We are coping together and we know it is hard to start anew, but we have to also teach the learners to develop their social and mental capacity,” she pointed out.
Moreover, during the interview, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent reminds parents and local government units to help in the upcoming brigada so that the schools will be conducive for learning.
The 100 percent face-to-face classes is expected to complete its transition by October to November, according to Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte. TNF
