Roxas, Isabela – The Provincial Health Offices of neighbor provinces Isabela and Cagayan have logged steady hikes in their COVID-19 active cases, citing a slow, yet consistent uptick in their active infections.
The PHO of Isabela has logged an increase in COVID-19 active infections anew with 25 on Wednesday morning, July 6 after recording 5 new positive cases.
The 5 new cases in Isabela were detected in Santiago City with 2 and 1 each in the towns of Angadanan, San Mateo and Cauayan City.
Areas with active patients are Santiago City, Cauayan City, Delfin Albano and Ilagan City each with 3; the towns of Roxas and Gamu with 2 each; while the towns of Angadanan, Aurora, Cabatuan, Cordon, Quirino, San Mateo, San Pablo, San Mariano and Sta. Maria each have 1.
Isabela has previously recorded 22 active cases on Monday, July 4.
Meanwhile, Cagayan province has logged an uptick with 67 active infections late on Wednesday, July 6, with 1 recovery and 10 new positive cases with 4 in Tuguegarao City; 2 each in the towns of Piat and Ballesteros; and 1 each in the towns of Sta. Teresita and Peñablanca
Areas in Cagayan with active cases are Tuguegarao City with 42; Solana with 4; Ballesteros and Tuao each have 3 cases; 2 each in the towns of Iguig, Penablanca, Gattaran, Piat and Rizal; and 1 case each in the towns of Alcala, Abulug, Gonzaga, Sta. Teresita, and Baggao.
Cagayan previously recorded 58 active cases on Tuesday, July 5.
Both provinces are currently under Alert Level 1 until July 15 as hoisted by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Although the infections seem to be rising, the Department of Health Region 2 and the Philippine Genome Center have not yet traced any of the new Omicron subvariants in both provinces.
