Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – With low levels of COVID-19 cases in Region 2, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has maintained Alert Level 1 for Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Batanes and Nueva Vizcaya until the end of June.
Nearby provinces of Kalinga, Abra and Apayao will also remain under Alert Level 1 as hoisted by the pandemic task force.
So far, most of Region 2 has been under the lowest alert level of the IATF since the third week of February after the onslaught of the original COVID-19 Omicron strain which brought about the surge at the start of this year.
Under Alert Level 1, the IATF earlier set that there are no restrictions in indoor and outdoor capacities while interzonal and intrazonal travel is also fully allowed without age restrictions as well as comorbidities.
All establishments and offices are also permitted to operate given that all these follow the prescribed health protocols.
Meanwhile, face-to-face classes for different levels depend on the guidelines and approval of the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Health (DOH), the IATF, and Local Government Units.
Face masks must always be worn in indoor private or public places and transportation vehicles except when drinking and consuming food.
Sports and gyms are also allowed as well as liesurely activities, among many others.
In its recent media briefing, the IATF said most of the country’s regions will remain under the most relaxed alert level including the National Capital Region where COVID-19 numbers are reported by the DOH to be on the rise. TNF
