Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Inter-Agency Task Force on Friday, May 27, has sustained the Alert Level 1 status for all 5 provinces of Region 2 in Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya from June 1 to 15, 2022.
The pandemic task force told reporters via Malacañang that the maintained status of the region follows the low COVID-19 Average Daily Attack Rate of all provinces as well as the relatively low number of active infections.
So far the only province with the highest number of active cases is Isabela with 18, followed by Cagayan with only 4 active infections.
Meanwhile, nearby provinces Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, and Mountain Province will also remain under Alert Level 1.
However, despite detections of the new Omicron BA.2.12.1 and BA.4 subvariants, the National Capital Region will remain under the lowest alert level as the health systems occupancy are still on low levels according to the Department of Health. TNF
