Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Senator Cynthia Villar has bared on Wednesday, June 1, that she is no longer going for the Senate presidency, citing that she wants a “simple life.”
Villar said in a statement, “I don’t want it anymore, I want a simple life.”
The Senator’s statement follows the rejection of the term-sharing option by Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri.
Villar also said that Zubiri must be ‘overjoyed’ with the adjustment as a strong force for the position.
Senator Villar said she will stay chairman of the agri and environment to maintain the goals she started.
Other Senators Win Gatchalian and Chiz Escudero are also vying for the top position in the upper chamber of the Senate.
The prestigious post is next in line to the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines in the line of succession, in case the President is not able to perform his duties due to resignation, disability, or death. TNF
