Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The state weather bureau said on Monday morning, April 4, that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar has entered the Phil Area of Responsibility and has fueled the Shearline bringing rainfall to Northern Luzon, parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
The LPA has officially entered PAR at 2am on Monday, and was spotted at 970 kilometers east of Samar at 3am, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, “The low pressure area has entered the PAR or Philippine area of responsibility at 2 a.m. This low pressure area is expected to move westward or towards Visayas and Mindanao. Currently, it has a low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone.”

According to Pagasa, the LPA has triggered the ‘Shearline’ bringing rain to Northern Luzon, while the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will also bring scattered rainfall in parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the shear line and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will cause scattered rain showers in northern Luzon, parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
The state weather bureau added that the capital region and other parts of the country may have fair weather with expected rainfall.
Strong winds and a gale warning has been hoisted over the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte & Sur, Cagayan province, La Union, and Pangasinan. TNF
