Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, October 13, has confirmed that with the recent attack of COVID-19 special variants of concern with the deadlier Delta variant, the Philippines’ death toll has surpassed 40,000.
DOH on Wednesday, has logged a total of 40,069 COVID-19 casualties or 1.49% of the nationwide cumulative confirmed cases of 2,690,455.
The lowest daily reported infections since July 29, 2021 has been reported on October 13 with only 7,181 in PH.
The health deparment said “The relatively low cases today is due to lower laboratory output last Monday, October 11.”
There were also 6,889 recoveries from the Coronavirus logged bringing the country’s total recovered patients to 2,567,975.
DOH has also noted a steady drop in the nationwide positivity rate from 15.5% last October 10 to 14.2% on October 11. TNF
