Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Department of Health (DOH) Region 2 on Saturday, October 2, has raised new epidemic classifications in the provinces of Cagayan Valley after its assessment of the COVID-19 situation.
Under ‘Critical Epidemic Risk Classification’ are Delfin Albano in Isabela province, Kayapa, Quezon, and Dupax del Sur in Nueva Vizcaya province.
The DOH explains that areas placed under ‘Critical’ classification does not necessarily mean it has the most dense number of infections, instead these places are noted to have a ‘high growth rate change’ in active infections.
Meanwhile, areas placed under ‘High Epidemic Risk Classification’ are based on persistent increase of COVID-19 cases every two weeks, along with its increasing Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) observed by the DOH.
Region 2 areas listed on the High Epidemic Risk Classification are Solana, Buguey, Claveria, Lasam, Sto. Nino, Pamplona, Sta. Praxedes, Calayan in Cagayan province; Solano, Bayombong, Bagabag, Kasibu, Aritao, Dupax del Norte, Sta. Fe, Diadi, Villaverde, Alfonso Castaneda in Nueva Vizcaya province; Maddela, Saguday, Cabarroguis, Aglipay, Nagtipunan in Quirino province; Santiago City, Cauayan City, Ilagan City, Tumauini, Roxas, Ramon, Gamu, Naguilian, Aurora, Cabatuan, Benito Soliven, Jones, Cordon, San Mariano, Sta. Maria, Reina Mercedes, Sto. Tomas, San Isidro, Mallig, Quirino, San Pablo, Dinapigue in Isabela.
The health department also disclosed their report on places under ‘Moderate’ epidemic risk classification citing a ‘decrease’ in the number of active COVID-19 cases or a drop in growth change.
Areas under ‘moderate’ epidemic include the epicenter in Tuguegarao City, Aparri, Baggao, Lal-lo, Alcala, Abulug, Gonzaga, Amulung, Penablanca, Sta. Ana, Ballesteros, Iguig, Gattaran, Camalaniugan, Tuao, Allacapan, Enrile, Piat, Sanchez Mira, Sta. Teresita, and Rizal in Cagayan province; Cabagan, Luna, Angadanan, Quezon, San Manuel, San Agustin and Burgos in Isabela province; Ambaguio and Bambang in Nueva Vizcaya province; and Diffun in Quirino province.
Other areas such as Echague, San Mateo, Alicia, Maconacon, and San Guillermo in Isabela have been placed at ‘Low’ epidemic risk classification by the health department. TNF
