DTI Pampanga Director Elenita Ordonio said monitoring of retailers’ compliance to suggested retail prices (SRPs) of basic goods and prime commodities is regularly conducted across the province.
This will prevent retailers from trying to jack up prices and victimize unwary consumers, she said.
The agency issues SRP bulletin to continuously guide consumers and retailers in their purchase and sale of basic and prime goods.
The provincial director added that the Price Coordinating Council is in continuous coordination with different associations of retailers to review the prevailing SRPs of basic goods and prime commodities.
In Pampanga, Ordonio disclosed DTI has not recorded any retailers who are going over the SRPs.
Sumusunod naman talaga ang lahat,” she said.
The provincial director reminded Kapampangan consumers to be vigilant on overpricing or selling of substandard items in the market.
She also warned retailers to observe the SRPs of their products.
