Pineda reminded the NCWs, who came from various districts of the province,to take good care of their health so as to be able to take care of others in need of medical support.
To ensure that they themselves are “fit and healthy,” they were gathered for a community briefing.
NCW is an organization of volunteer household wives formed by then Vice Governor and now Governor Dennis Pineda in 2015.
The project is aimed at assisting then Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda in the speedy implementation of disaster, and health response of the provincial government at the grassroots level.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Chief Angelina Blanco discussed the role of NCWs during disasters.
Various specialists and doctors also discussed with the NCWs what to do to avoid diseases, such as depression, tuberculosis, breast cancer, oral disease, and others.
The purpose of the activity is to intensify the implementation of the “Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Ordinance” of the capitol.
