Mayor Jayson Sagum said he is already coordinating with the Sangguniang Bayan for the approval of an ordinance that will create funding for the program.
Under the program, residents of this town who will receive either cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude honor will receive financial award.
Cum laude graduates will be awarded P10,000, magna cum laudes will receive P20,000 while summa cum laude awardees gets P50,000.
“Ito ay para ma-inspire at magthrive harder itong ating mga students sa pag-aaral nila,” he said.
Once the ordinance is passed, Sagum said funding will be included in the 2023 budget of the local government.
It will cover student-awardees who will graduate starting next year.
“Win-win po tayo dito dahil nakatulong na tayo sa mga bata at pamilya nila and at the same time, nakapagbigay din sila ng karangalan sa bayan natin,” Sagum said.
