Provincial officials, led by Governor Dennis Pineda, distributed the cash aid at the Lubao Gym this Wednesday, September 21.
Pineda said the program aims to support the indigenous people in their studies.
About 1,061 Aetas studying in high school received P2,500 each, while 69 Aetas in college received P5,000 each.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, which administered the program, said college students currently living in boarding houses received an additional P5,000 for their rent.
The provincial government also pays their full tuition, whether they are studying in public or private institutions.
Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda announced to the graduating scholars that the provincial government already prepared jobs for them.
“‘Yung mga napa-graduate na natin, permanente na yung iba sa kanila sa Kapitolyo. Inaabangan ko talaga ‘yung mga gagraduate, lalo na next year, may nakaprepare nang item or trabaho para sa kanila,” Vice Governor Pineda said.
Also attending the activity were 2nd District Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab and Sajid Khan Eusoof, and Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda.
