“There was no single crime incident and lawless elements victimizing students reported. This could be attributed to the tight implementation of ‘Ligtas Balik-Eskwela 2022’ which aims to ensure the safety and security of students, especially within the school premises,” he said.
The deployment of some 2,000 police personnel in schools and strategic areas paid off, Pasiwen added.
“We have deployed almost 2,000 personnel for the opening of classes and I commend them for their assiduousness in performing their duties. Indeed, it paid off with no single crime incident reported. I would also thank the public for their cooperation and support to us,” he said.
Pasiwen said police assistance desks and motorists assistance centers established on August 19 are still in place to ensure maximum police presence.
He said that he also directed all field officers to personally and regularly visit different schools and coordinate with officials in order to prevent crimes against students such as hold-ups, pick-pocketing, snatching, drug pushing, and even kidnapping.
