Apalit Mayor Oscar “Jun” Tetangco Jr., who was recently elected as president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Pampanga Chapter, said the group will focus on assisting the provincial government on its Covid-19 recovery program.
Tetangco was unanimously voted as head of the LMP Pampangan on Wednesday afternoon.
He replaced former Minalin Mayor Edgar Flores, whose three-year term ended on June 30 this year.
Tetangco also stressed that the unity shown by all local chief executives in the province will be a key factor in achieving their common goal.
Governor Dennis Pineda, who officiated the oath-taking of the new LMP officers, assured that the provincial government will support the group’s programs.
Kailangan talaga namin ang kooperasyon ng bawat isa dahil without them, mahihirapan pong bumaba ang kapitolyo sa bara-barangay,” he said.
Pineda also particularly asked the assistance of mayors in the implementation of provincial government’s program health, education and social in the barangay level.
