Based on the Friday bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon, the region had a total of 4,039 active Covid-19 cases.
The number was significantly higher from only around 1,200 active cases logged in the region before 2021 ended.
Bulacan also recorded the highest number of active Covid-19 cases out of the seven provinces in Central Luzon, with some 2,313 cases; followed by Pampanga with 614; Nueva Ecija with 325; and Tarlac with 315.
Bataan province also logged 262 active Covid-19 cases, while Zambales had 200 and Aurora had 10.
Meanwhile, the region recorded a total of 282,060 confirmed Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, of which 274,853 were recovered and 6,168 died.
