SOME 532 new cases of coronavirus infections were recorded in Pampanga Sunday, September 26, in another single-day high increase of cases in the province, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

This brought the number of confirmed cases in the province to 61,945 cases.

The DOH tracker also placed the number of active cases at 3,943. Of the number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, 56,481 have already recovered.

The DOH data showed that 1,521 cases have died from the disease since last year. Sixty-two people in Pampanga have died in the last 14 days, while four deaths were recorded in Angeles City in the same period.

Pampanga had recorded 4,476 new cases in the last 14 days.

The drastic increase in cases has brought the total bed occupancy of health facilities in the province to 71.8 percent. This means that only 378 of the 1,341 beds in the province remain vacant.

Twenty-one of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga are now at critical level, while seven are at high risk of no longer being able to admit new patients.
