PAMPANGA Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda met with obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYN) from district hospitals of the province to seek their cooperation in a program aimed at providing a facility exclusively for OB-GYN patients who test positive for the coronavirus.
This is after the number of pregnant women who tested positive for the virus increased in recent days.
He said this is also a way to help decongest the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital due to the spike in the number of Covid-19 patients currently admitted here.
Based on what was discussed, an initial 15 beds will be allocated to the Covid-19 referral hospital for pregnant women affected by Covid-19.
According to Malu Lacson, central command deputy on Covid-19 vaccination rollout, five OB-GYN doctors will oversee the hospital for Covid-19 positive pregnant women.
The Capitol also asked for the cooperation of OB-GYNs with the aim of raising the awareness of pregnant patients about the Covid-19 disease.
