CITY of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago has tested positive for coronavirus, the City Information Office (CIO) reported Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
In the bulletin it released via its official Facebook page, the CIO noted that Santiago was already under isolation and is recovering from the symptoms caused by the disease.
Despite this, the CIO assured that all programs of the city government, especially relating to Covid-19 response and disaster risk reduction and management will continue as usual.
Meanwhile, all identified close contacts of Santiago prior to his isolation have also undergone self-quarantine and are scheduled for swab testing.
The city government also advised individuals who had known contact with the local chief executive from September 2 to 6 to undergo self-isolation and coordinate with the city health office immediately.
