THE local government of Magalang town, Pampanga has recorded 12 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Among the patients were three teenagers — an 18-year-old female; a 16-year-old male and a 13-year old girl. All of them were from Barangay San Pablo.

One of the new cases was a 72-year-old man from Barangay Navaling in this town.

The Municipal Health Office recorded a total of 979 Covid-19 cases since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Some 863 patients recovered and 54 individuals died from the virus, according to the municipal government.

The local government unit is appealing to residents to continue observing health protocols, including the wearing of face covers, washing of hands and physical distancing.

The local government, meanwhile, denied reports that the town will be on lockdown.

“Nais po naming paalalahanin muli ang mga Magalenos na fake news ang kumakalat na balita na magkakaroon ng lockdown sa bayan ng Magalang,” the LGU said.
