MASANTOL town welcomed the New Year with zero active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.
Mayor Danilo Guintu said on Wednesday, January 6, that since January 1, all active Covid-19 cases were already cleared by the Department of Health.
“The year 2021 started good for us as our four patients who tested positive before Christmas day were able to recover on December 31,” the mayor said.
Masantol, which was the last to record Covid-19 cases since the outbreak, is now also the lone municipality in Pampanga to have zero active case.
Guintu reminded anew Masantoleños to continue observing all health protocols to prevent being infected by the virus.
“We give credit to Masantoleños who are very cooperative in our programs against Covid-19, and of course our frontliners for their bravery and heroism in ensuring that Masantol and our people are safe from the virus,” he said.
