DOH-Davao records slight increase in Covid-19 hospitalization

THE Department of Health-Davao Region (DOH-Davao) recorded a slight increase of newly recorded Covid-19 cases and hospital utilization in the Davao Region for the past week.

Based on the September 19, 2022 data, a total of 738 cases were recorded from September 12 to 18. This is higher by 11 percent than the cases recorded from September 5 to 11, where 665 cases were recorded.

Meanwhile, the latest data has an average of 105 daily average cases, including six newly recorded severe and critical cases, while 24 were verified reported deaths.

As for the healthcare utilization data as of September 18, the intensive care unit (ICU) bed utilization rate is at 60 percent. This is a huge increase from 39.8 percent rate compared to the data on September 10.

Non-ICU bed utilization also increased from 36 percent on September 10 to 43.8 percent on September 18.

Healthcare utilization rates from both bed classifications are still at the safe level, according to DOH’s classifications. RGL
