Digos City Mayor Josef Cagas issued Executive Order (EO) No. 1 series of 2022, adopting the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) placing the entire Davao del Sur under Alert Level 3 until January 31.
The EO states that curfew hours will be earlier for unvaccinated.
However, the curfew for fully vaccinated individuals will be from 12 midnight to 5 a.m. They must present their vaccination cards upon random inspection by authorities.
During the curfew, only those working or going home from work, and those going out in case of emergency will be allowed to go out.
Cagas also ordered that all business establishments must be closed at 7 p.m., except essential establishments such as hospitals, pharmacies, gasoline stations, funeral homes, and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.
However, all establishments with workers that are fully vaccinated may stay open until 11 p.m., provided that minimum health protocols must be observed and that workers must present their vaccination cards upon inspection.
Selling of liquors and alcoholic drinks is allowed, but only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to drink or consume liquor inside bars, restaurants, convenience stores, videoke houses, and food establishments. Drinking liquor is prohibited in public areas.
The IATF has placed Davao del Sur under Alert Level 3 effective January 16 due to the increasing number of cases.
As of January 19, the Digos City Health Office recorded 158 active cases. Since the start of the pandemic, the city already reported 5,048 confirmed cases, wherein 4,709 recovered and 149 died.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health-Davao Region reported, as of January 22, a total of 526 active cases in Davao del Sur. Total confirmed cases were already 12,115, wherein 11,104 recovered, and 485 died.
