A TOTAL of 11,100 doses of Gamaleya Sputnik V vaccines arrived in Davao City on Tuesday morning, July 13.
The Sputnik V vaccines arrived via commercial flight around 6 a.m. at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport (Davao International Airport).
In an information provided by the Department of Health (DOH)-Davao, of the 11,100 doses, 900 are intended for the second dose and 10,200 are for the first dose of the Priority A1 to A5 eligible groups.
According to the National Vaccine Deployment for Covid-19 of the DOH, Priority A1 group are workers in frontline health services, A2 are the senior citizens, A3 are persons with comorbidities, A4 are frontline personnel in essential sectors (including uniformed personnel), and A5 are the indigent population (including indigenous peoples and 4Ps beneficiaries).
DOH-Davao has yet to disclose the breakdown of the number of doses that will be allocated per local government unit.
According to DOH-Davao, the region has already received a total of 924,910 doses. This includes Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik.
A total of 853,600 were already delivered for first and second dose to local government units, while 71,310 have yet to be distributed.
The Russian Direct Investment Fund has delivered an additional 170,000 doses of Sputnik V, its viral vector vaccine against Covid-19, on July 9 and 10.
These brought the total Sputnik V deliveries to the Philippines to 350,000 doses. All were procured by the National Dovernment.
For the July 9 shipment, 82,000 doses were component I (first dose) and 50,000 were component II (second dose). The July 10 shipment consisted of all component I doses.
The Philippines has received a total of 20,779,910 doses of donated and procured vaccines, consisting of 12 million doses of Sinovac, 5,708,100 doses of AstraZeneca, 2,472,210 doses of Pfizer, 249,600 doses of Moderna and 350,000 doses of Sputnik V. (RGL/Wth SunStar Philippines)
