BOHOL Governor Erico Aris Aumentado has been appointed as the new chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Visayas, according to the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 7.
In a statement posted on NEDA 7’s official Facebook page on Friday, October 21, 2022, Aumentado’s appointment was made through a transmittal letter from the Office of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. dated October 19.
Aside from Aumentado, former RDC 7 chairman and world-class designer Kenneth Cobonpue was appointed RDC 7 co-chairperson.
Cobonpue was RDC 7 chairman from 2019 to 2021 after he was appointed by then President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Aumentado thanked Marcos for appointing him to the post.
“Bisan pa man og bag-o pa lang ako nagsugod sa akong termino, gihatagan gihapon ako og maayong higayon nga atong maserbisyohan ang mga katawhan sa atong rehiyon,” Aumentado said, on Friday, October 21.
(Even though I just started my term, he (Marcos) gave me the opportunity to serve our constituents in the region)
Aumentado said that while he believes that working as RDC 7 chairman is not easy, he hopes that all governors, mayors and members under RDC 7 will help him in achieving their goals for the region. (JKV)
