Romeo Perez, team leader of the City’s Traffic Enforcement Unit, said the accident, which involved a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a van, took place around 9 a.m.
Based on initial reports gathered from witnesses, the van was running at high speed when it ran into the MPV.
The passengers of both vehicles suffered minor wounds and bruises, but no one needed to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Perez said the drivers of both vehicles did not have to drive so fast, considering the traffic was light.
Personnel of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) towed the vehicles to clear the road.
Perez said the vehicles will be under Team’s custody while it is investigating the accident.
He advised drivers to slow down, especially when crossing an intersection.
“It’s evident that one of the drivers (involved in the accident) was not paying attention,” he said in Cebuano. (HIC)
