Romanito Gumilak, Senior High School coordinator of SNHS, told SunStar Cebu on Friday morning, July 15, that they will accommodate the 300 senior high students in vacant rooms that were not affected by the fire.
The school has 15 classrooms, three of which were damaged, namely: housekeeping, science and computer laboratories.
Gumilak said they will schedule a meeting with the local officials headed by Mayor Marites “Monic” Buscato to discuss their plan for the repair of damaged classrooms.
Bureau of Fire Protection personnel in Oslob town believed that an unattended electric fan might have caused the fire after it overheated.
The fire left around P750,000 worth of damage.
Staff Sergeant Dante Deniega, case investigator, said they received a call from the Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office of Santander about the incident around 4:45 a.m. of July 14.
The blaze was completely put out at 5:24 a.m.
Personnel of Santander police and Bureau of Fire Protection of Oslob and Samboan towns responded to the incident. (GDC, TPT)
