FIFTY-THREE of the 80 barangays in Cebu City have active Covid-19 cases as of Monday, January 10, 2022, according to the Cebu City Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
On December 31, 2021, there were only four barangays that have active cases.
As of Jan. 10, Cebu City had 564 active cases.
There were only one case in each of four barangays for a total of four active cases last Jan. 1
City Councilor Joel Garganera, EOC deputy chief implementer, said the rise of new Covid-19 cases is nothing new.
“Before we have 400 cases a day, so cases like this is very normal to EOC, we can weather this but as long nga kita magkahiusa pagtuman sa mga protocol, dili ug dili gyud ta mo kumpyansa (we are one in following the protocols, and we should not be complacent. Kaya nato ni (We can do this)!” Garganera said. (PAC / KAL)
