THE Cebu City Government plans to add three barangay isolation facilities to bring to at least 500 its total number of beds to deal with the rise in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city.
This was announced by Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the Emergency Operations Center, Friday, Jan. 7, 2022.
Garganera said there are four operational temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTMFs), but these are facing problems of low voltage after Typhoon Odette (Rai) downed power lines in Cebu last Dec. 16.
Cebu City has 134 active Covid-19 cases, of whom at least nine are in the hospital.
Of the nine cases, eight are in their mid-20s, while one is an 85-year-old.
The Cebu City barangays with the most number of active Covid-19 cases are Apas, 11 active cases; Mambaling 10; Lahug, 8; Guadalupe, 7; Banilad, 5; Talamban, 5; and Sambag 1, 5.
Cebu City recorded 13 new cases on Jan. 3, followed by 22 new cases on Jan. 4, then 39 new cases on Jan. 5, and 56 cases on Jan. 6. (PAC / CTL)
