FORTY-ONE traffic lights in 64 intersections in Cebu City have been restored after they were damaged during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (Rai) on December 16, 2022.
This was announced by Lyntoni Alburo, head of the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO), on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Alburo said there were traffic lights, including the old ones, that were blown away by the strong winds and are still missing.
The CCTO has no problem with the digital traffic lights because they were newly installed and there are contractors who can take care of them.
As of this writing, Alburo could not yet give an estimate to Typhoon Odette’s damage to the Cebu City traffic lights because the CCTO is still undergoing repair and evaluation on the damaged traffic lights. (PAC, KAL)
