The group, dubbed “Task Force Bangon Oponganon,” will be composed of the city’s barangay officials and personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
In an interview on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, Chan said the budget for the cash aid is already with the CSWDO.
The City Council proposed through an ordinance that the amount for the financial assistance be set at P302 million.
However, Chan said he approved only the P236 million, which is P66 million short of what the council approved.
In his Facebook post Thursday, January 6, Chan said the city has raised an amount of P47.65 million from the national government and private individuals but admitted that the total amount is still insufficient to cover the 92,557 households in the city.
Those houses that will be assessed by the task force will be provided with a Certificate of Residency and Indigency as a requirement of the Commission on Audit.
Chan said those who have already repaired their houses can present pictures or videos to show the damage caused by the typhoon.
Chan said the house-to-house listing will be on Thursday, January 6, and Friday, January 7.
After the listing, the City will undertake encoding and payroll making from Saturday, January 8 to Tuesday, January 11.
The verification and final processing will be on January 12 to 15, and the releasing of the financial assistance will be on January 16 to 17.
