The E-Clip awarding ceremony was held at the Halfway House, Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office in San Martin, Villanueva, this province.
Each former rebel was given P15,000 immediate assistance, P50,000 livelihood assistance and P21,000 reintegration assistance and firearms remuneration for each firearm surrenderer.
The 25 former rebels, who are from Gingoog City, Claveria, Agusan del Sur, Bukidnon, and Salay, were part of the second batch of this year’s E-Clip grants. These former rebels have participated in the Balik-Loob Program, which includes a series of psychosocial activities and deradicalization procedures. Also included in their training were seminars on financial literacy and other livelihood training like coffee brewing and table skirting facilitated by the Technical Education And Skills Development Authority and Department of Trade and Industry.
Department of the Interior and Local Government Provincial Director engineer Marisia Naybe, who led the ceremonial awarding and check distribution to former rebels, assured them that the government will take care of them.
“Please keep in mind that we are the true government that will care for you; all you have to do is talk to us so that we can help you,” Naybe said.
E-Clip is a national program that responds to former rebels’ conditions, needs, and worries by providing aid and assistance and endeavors to address their basic rights and circumstances as men and women.
