THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office reported on Thursday, May 5, 2022, three new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing Cagayan de Oro’s total caseload to 25,844.
According to the City Health Office, of the three new cases, two were local index cases and one was a mortality.
According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the two local index cases involved an vaccinated 39-year-old male from Barangay Bugo, and an unvaccinated six-year-old male from Barangay Tablon.
The lone mortality was an unvaccinated 64-year-old male. The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 941.
The total number of Cagayan de Oro’s active cases is now at six, of which four were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and two were outpatients.
The city also registered one new coronavirus-positive person who was now tagged as “recovered.” This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,897.
