According to the City Health Office, of the five new cases, three were local index cases and two were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).
According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the three local index cases involved an unvaccinated 10-year-old male from Barangay Indahag, a vaccinated 22-year-old male from Barangay Carmen, and a vaccinated 46-year-old female from Barangay Carmen.
The two local Apors, on the other hand, involved a 52-year-old female from Barangay Nazareth, and a 48-year-old male from Barangay Macasandig. Both of them were vaccinated.
The total number of Cagayan de Oro’s active cases is now at 19, of which 13 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and six were outpatients.
The city also registered two new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as “recovered.” This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,863.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 935, with no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Cagayan de Oro.
