107 new Covid-19 cases in Oro over the weekend

THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro continues to decline while the city recorded 107 new cases over the weekend.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the city have reached 19,054.

The City Health Office said that among the 107 cases, one was a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 106 were local transmissions.

Of the 106 new cases, 54 were local index cases, 33 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 10 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), four were Apors with link, and five were mortalities.

“Kalooy sa Diyos, our figures are quite encouraging,” City Mayor Oscar Moreno said.

“Ato pa gyu’ng pakunhod ang pag spread sa virus. Hopefully ato ning ma sustain. Hopefully sa sunod nga mga adlaw, naa ta sa, kung mahimo, below 37,” he added.

The active cases in Cagayan de Oro reached 3,863, of which 948 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 2,898 were outpatients, and 17 were ROFs/LSIs.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 79 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as “recovered,” bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 14,379.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 812.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinees who tested positive for the virus in Cagayan de Oro has reached 4,529, the City Health Office reported.

It added that of the 4,529 vaccinees, 2,819 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 853 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 300 with Pfizer, 271 were vaccinated with Sputnik V, 267 were vaccinated with Janssen, 14 were vaccinated with Moderna, and five were vaccinated with Sinopharm.

Of the 2,819 Covid-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 2,232 individuals were experiencing mild symptoms, 407 were asymptomatic, 173 had moderate symptoms and seven were severe cases.

Among the 853 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 639 individuals had mild symptoms, 158 were asymptomatic, 52 had moderate symptoms and four were severe cases.
