THE number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases and active infections in Cagayan de Oro continue to rise, as noted by the City Health Office.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in the city increased to 2,146.
As of 10 p.m. Monday, August 9, the City Health Office recorded 118 new cases, 69 of which are local index cases, 34 are local cases with link, seven are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), seven are Apors with link, and one mortality.
This brought the cumulative Covid-19 case count to 14,034.
The city’s active cases, on the other hand, were composed of 635 who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 1,511 were outpatients.
Cagayan de Oro also registered 82 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 11,286.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 602.
Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated confirmed coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro has reached 2,074, according to the report of the City Health Office.
Retuya said of the 2,074 vaccinees, 1,338 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 422 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 146 with Pfizer, 110 with Sputnik V, 54 with Janssen, three with Sinopharm, and one with Moderna.
Of the 1,338 coronavirus-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 1,023 individuals are experiencing mild symptoms, 218 are asymptomatic, 91 have moderate symptoms, and six are severe cases.
Among the 422 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 296 individuals have mild symptoms, 90 are asymptomatic, 33 have moderate symptoms, and three severe cases.
