Major Junji Liba, head of BTAO, said yesterday, October 17, that they will start the road closure from the junction of Lacson and Ramos Streets towards Cottage Road and Lacson Street intersection from 1 a.m. of October 19 until midnight of October 20
This is to prepare the stage in the area for a street party from October 21 to 23, Liba said, adding that the road closure on these days, on the other hand, will start from 3 p.m. until 5 a.m.
He said all northbound vehicles from Lacson Street will take a left turn to Cottage Road then left turn to Gatuslao Street, right turn to North Capitol Road, another left turn to Aguinaldo Street, right turn to B.S. Aquino Drive, and left turn to Lacson Street going to the point of destination.
Meanwhile, all southbound vehicles from Lacson Street will take a right turn to B.S. Aquino Drive, then make a left turn to Gatuslao Street to the point of destination.
The traffic official noted that they will deploy more than 100 traffic enforcers in the area to maintain the smooth flow of traffic.
Aside from Lacson Street, Liba said, they will also effect closure at the 5th Road of the Megaworld’s The Upper East near Circumferential Road in preparation for the October 22 Electric MassKara Float and Dance Competition.
On the highlights of the festival on October 23, meanwhile, the road closures will also start at about 10 a.m. from Rizal-Locsin Streets going to Gatuslao Street and Araneta Street towards the Paglaum Sports Complex for the street and arena dance competition, he added.*
