Dr. Grace Tan, head of CHO’s Environment Sanitation Division, said they were conducting intensive health education campaign in various barangays on dengue disease transmission and early consultation, and importance of searching and destroying mosquito breeding places.
She said fogging and spraying were also conducted in various schools since opening of classes in public schools already started Monday, August 22.
“We are also in close coordination with the hot spot barangays (Mansilingan and Taculing) and those with clustering of cases,” she added.
Tan also reiterated that the public should practice the 4S program of the Department of Health.
The 4S stands for “Search and destroy” mosquito-breeding sites, practice “Self-protection measures” such as wearing of long pants and long-sleeved shirts, and daily use of mosquito repellent), “Seek early consultation”, and “Support fogging/spraying.”
