Former Murcia town mayor Esteban “Sonny” Coscolluela, spokesman of Marcos-Duterte campaign in Negros Occidental, said Saturday, April 23, that aside from the 28 mayors in Negros Occidental, several organizations like youth, drivers, fisherfolks and urban poor, among others, have already pledged support for Marcos as the election nears.
“They realized that among the presidential aspirants, Marcos showed sincerity in his aim to uplift our lives based on the platform of government that he laid down,” Coscolluela said.
He noted that even in Talisay City, Marcos, who is popularly known as BBM, is winning the presidential race based on the latest local survey.
“Even in an area they (their political rival) claimed to be their stronghold, BBM will win (and) the result of the elections will be the solid proof,” he said.
Meanwhile, the formed mayor clarified that there is no truth on the alleged harassment hurled by the other political camp against the supporters of BBM.
“You check on the records of all police stations, especially at the Fourth and Fifth Districts as they claimed, (and) there is none,” he stressed.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has been doing “Oplan Baklas” and their supporters are well advised not to engage in any inappropriate acts, he also said.
Former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela, who heads the Robredo People’s Council (RPC) – Negros Occidental, claimed that dirty tricks are being employed against their candidates such as “baklas” or removal of posters and other campaign materials.
Meanwhile, about 6,000 supporters of Marcos in Bago City met with the presidential aspirant’s sons, Simon and Vincent, on Friday, April 22.
They also went to Pontevedra where they met 3,500 supporters of their father.
Local officials led by Fourth District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and several mayors in the province joined the young Marcoses during their campaign sorties for their father in the province.
