“It doesn’t matter what the total number was. It can already be considered a successful day for VP Leni here in Negros Occidental,” Lacson said, as he thanked those who showed up in all her campaign sorties.
Organizers of the grand rally for Robredo and vice presidential aspirant Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan claimed that the crowd for the Pink People’s Rally in Bacolod City alone reached 70,000.
The rally was attended by Lacson, who introduced Robredo, Robredo People’s Council-Negros Occidental chair former governor Rafael Coscolluela, Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III and Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr.
Asked if the numbers would mean votes for the candidates, the governor said “the numbers in both rallies definitely gave encouragement to both presidential candidates.”
Lacson also said that Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer sent him a text message congratulating him for a successful rally.
Ferrer heads the campaign of former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Negros Occidental.
Earlier, the governor and the vice governor reassured that while they have different presidential bets, the local coalition of Lacson’s Love Negros and Ferrer’s United Negros Alliance (Unega) will remain solid and strong.
“We will respect each other’s choices as well as that of the mayors in the province,” they said.
