THE City Government of Kabankalan City has already released about P50.2 million in housing assistance to residents who have been affected by the recent onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

Mayor Pedro Zayco said the financial assistance is from local funds aimed at helping the residents rebuild their houses that were destroyed by the typhoon.

Zayco said the recipients are already the second batch while the first batch received the financial assistance on December 30, 2021.

Recipients whose houses were damaged received P3,000, while those whose houses were destroyed received P4,000.

Data from the City Government showed that the financial assistance has already been released to 3,202 residents whose houses were damaged, and 1,067 to those whose homes were destroyed.

After the documents of the remaining barangays will be validated, the cash assistance for the other residents who also lost their homes due to the typhoon will be released next week by the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
