“DON’T lose hope.”

This was the message of Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel to Negrenses and Bacolodnons who were severely affected by the wrath of Typhoon Odette.

Pimentel, the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) chairman, said that he and Senator Manny Pacquaio are in Negros Occidental to extend help to the distressed sector.

Pacquiao is the party’s standard bearer for president.

“We will help each other. Senator Pacquaio and I will help the people of Bacolod and Negros Occidental during this time of calamity,” he said.

Pacquaio is a kind-hearted person and it is his nature to help, Pimentel said, adding that, “with him, the poor are the winners. It’s time to address the needs of the poor. He has the purest heart and a profound desire to serve the public.”

“It is also why he was chosen at the party’s presidential bet because of his pure heart,” the senator added.

“I hope that everyone is safe and rebuilding what they have lost during the super typhoon Odette,” Pimentel said.

Pimentel and wife Kathryna were in Bacolod City over the weekend to attend the 50th golden wedding anniversary of former mayor Monico Puentevella and wife Josefa “Patching” Puentevella.

Meanwhile, Pimentel endorsed Asenso Bacolod candidate, Claudio Puentevella, for councilor of the city in the 2022 elections.

“He is our candidate for councilor who has a good track record with vision and a bloodline of public service in Bacolod City. I hope that we will help him get a seat in the Bacolod City Council,” he said.

The young Puentevella also thanked Senator Pimentel for coming to Bacolod to attend their family affair.

“It is very humbling to get endorsed by Senator Pimentel.I am a PDP-Laban member and I’m running under the PROMDI political party of Senator Pacquaio,” he said.
