Of the five, four are residents of Sagay City Negros Occidental, who are employed in a milling company, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Executive Director Em Ang said.
Ang said a personnel from the Human Resource Office of their company called the EOC to verify if they were indeed vaccinated at a mall in Bacolod City since their employer was also offering a free vaccination.
Upon checking at the database of the EOC, their names were not there, which means the vaccination cards they presented to their company are counterfeited, she said.
A resident of Bago City also presented a fake vaccination card, Ang said, adding that it is easy for them now to trace fake vaccination cards since their database is already updated.
The City Legal Office led by lawyer Joselito Bayatana will determine what charges will be filed against the five.
Last week, four laborers, who are residents outside Bacolod, also presented fake vaccination cards.
“Do not present fake vaccination cards as it is against the law,” Ang reiterated, adding that “it is tantamount to falsification of public documents.”
