THE Department of Health–Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region I is set to conduct a five-day Special Vaccination event beginning Monday, September 26.
DOH-CHD 1 Medical Officer IV and Covid-19 focal person Dr. Rheuel Bobis said the special vaccination days aim to jab 90% of A2 category or senior citizens with their primary doses, and to inoculate the 50% eligible population their booster doses.
Its September 22 data showed around 8,839,392 doses have been administered in the region: 3,806,932 doses were given in primary series, while only 1,223,278 booster doses were administered, resulting in the region’s 84% vaccination coverage of senior citizens.
However, 84,031 senior citizens still needed to be inoculated to accomplish the A2 category target.
Meanwhile, 25.87% of the total 886,810 individuals from the general population still need to be inoculated their booster doses to complete the 50% vaccination coverage.
Bobis said the supply for the Special Vaccination days are ample and more vaccinators will be deployed.
“Magde-deploy tayo ng mga vaccinators sa mga transport terminals, community outreach, sa mga paaralan, bahay sambahan, payout centers at sa mga shopping malls”, he said. (Ahikam Pasion)
