ILOILO – A total of 58,099 individuals were vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) through the “Bulig Bakuna,” a village-based vaccination drive of the provincial government.
Data (as of Nov. 29) from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed the vaccinees were from Anilao (239), Badiangan (486), Cabatuan (8,384), Calinog (1,156), Carles (8,000), Dueñas (716), Estancia (1,625), Leon (6,551), Janiuay (252), Miag-ao (4,850), New Lucena (2,299), Oton (3,796), Pavia (5,061), Pototan (6,628), Santa Barbara (7,483), and Tigbauan (573).
A total of 42,516 received their first dose; 15,571 their second dose; and 12 their booster shots.
The vaccine brands used were Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and Sputnik.
“Bringing the vaccines to the barangays is advantageous because they do not have to travel to vaccination sites and risk being exposed to COVID-19,” said Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr./PN
