CAPIZ – At the launching here of the pediatric vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Nov. 4, 72 youngsters from 12 to 17 years old and with comorbidities were inoculated.
The launching was held at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) in Roxas City compliance to the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH) that the vaccination of minors must be done hospital-based.
According to DOH Capiz Information officer Joefery Espiritu, the minors were monitored and no adverse effects were noted.
The vaccine injected to the youngsters was Pfizer.
The vaccination rollout for the rest of the minors in Capiz is on Nov. 10.
Thursday’s launching was graced by DOH assistant regional director, Dr. Helen D. Tobias, Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras, Dr. Ramon Alex T. Nolasco (Provincial Health Officer II), Dr. Edmarie M. Tormon (Acting Chief of RMPH), and Dr. Mary Joy D. Castroverde (Provincial DOH Officer).
Nolasco said there would be enough COVID-19 vaccines for the minors.
