ANTIQUE – Four towns have no more active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of Nov. 8, according to the Antique Provincial Health Office (APHO). These were Belison, Culasi, San Remigio, and Sebaste.
The 14 other municipalities of Antique have varying numbers of active cases. These are Hamtic (13), Anini-y (10), San Jose de Buenavista (10), Tobias Fornier (eight), Caluya (seven), Sibalom (six), Patnongon (four), Barbaza (three), Bugasong (three), Tibiao (three), Laua-an (two), Pandan (two), Libertad (one), and Valderrama (one).
Mayor Margarito Mission Jr. of San Remigio cited his Rural Health Unit (RHU), frontliners and his constituents for dutifully enforcing and observing health protocols (wearing of facemask and face shield, observing physical distancing and proper handwashing). These, he said, contributed to making their town COVID-free.
“After eight months of sleepless nights, congratulations to our RHU and all frontliners. I salute you. Job well done,” said Mission.
The goal now, he said, is to sustain the town’s COVID-free status.
In the provincial level as of Nov. 8, Antique recorded 73 active cases, 5,731 cases that recovered and 282 cases that died./PN
