ILOILO – Anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) jabs have been administered to 31,894 minors in this province as of Nov. 19, covering 14 percent of the target pediatric population, according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Passi City so far has the highest number of kids inoculated at 2,049, followed by San Dionisio with 1,788, Oton (1,755) and Pavia (1,709).
Here’s the breakdown of vaccinees from other towns: Ajuy (1,176), Alimodian (106), Anilao (881), Badiangan (1,021), Banate (949), Barotac Nuevo (927), Barotac Viejo (496), Batad (1,073), Bingawan (315), Cabatuan (1,663), Calinog (1,465), Carles (1,334), Concepcion (920), Duenas (1,038), Dumangas (1,017), Estancia (124), Guimbal (185), Igbaras (229), Leganes (1,314), Lemery (486), Miag-ao (785), Mina (866), New Lucena (146), Pototan (1,625), San Dioniso (1,788), San Enrique (939), San Miguel (1,131), Sara (894), and Zarraga (1,156).
The other towns have yet to submit their accomplishment reports to the PHO.
No adverse effects were reported so far, according to Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon, PHO head.
“May gamay lang nga sakit sa injection site which is normal man,” Quiñon added.
She encouraged parents to pre-register their children aged 12 to 17 with their Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs), Barangay Health Centers or Rural Health Units.
The province targets to inoculate children aged 12 years old (37,510); 13 years old (37,442); 14 years old (38,017); 15 years old (40,293); 16 years old (36,204); and 17 years old (38,196).
The local government units with high targets were Oton (10,447), Passi City (9,469), Pototan (8,826), Lambunao (8,658), Dumangas (8,125), Carles (8,013), Miag-ao (7,944), Janiuay (7,513), Tigbauan (7,373), Calinog (7,103), Cabatuan (6,871), Barotac Nuevo (6,366), Pavia (6,537), Ajuy (6,145), San Joaquin (6,281), Barotac Viejo (5,386), Estancia (5,707), and Concepcion (5,074)./PN
