ILOILO City – Two days are left for Western Visayans to register for the May 9, 2022 elections.
“This is your last chance,” Atty. Wilfred Jay E. Balisado, director of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Region 6.
The voters’ registration will end tomorrow (Oct. 30).
“There will be no extension,” said Balisado.
Would-be voters should come early tomorrow, he said.
Comelec noticed only a few registrants since last week.
Anticipating an influx of registrants, Balisado said election offices utilized bigger registration sites such as gymnasiums and malls.
Western Visayas has more than 4.7 million voters so far.
The regional director also reminds potential voters to wear facemasks and face shields, observe social distancing and bring hand sanitizers upon registration.
They are also encouraged to bring their own ball pens to reduce the risk of contracting coronavirus disease 2019.
People must also bring valid identification cards./PN
